I'm getting a P0402 code and I found other replies about a sensor that controls the EGR .Can anyone let me know where this is ? and is it part of the P0402 code. I only got the 1 code so I cleared it to see if it returns. I have 102500 km on the car,any comment on weather this is still covered under the emission warranty?

The P0402 indicates there is excessive EGR flow. It can be one of 3 things. Most likely is the DPFE sensor, next is the EGR Vent solenoid, and lastly the EGR valve hanging partially open. The DPFE sensor should be located to the center top rear of the engine and be a small plastic piece that sits on 2 rubber hoses. The EGR Vent solenoid is located close to the EGR valve and looks like it has a small round plactic top on it and has vacuum hoses going to it.

I'm agreeing with way2old here, probably DFPE sensor.

I agree with the other guys, it's probably a DPFE. At the dealership Ford had us quit diagnosing the code under warranty and just slap one on and if that didn't fix it, then start diagnosis. Also, get your VIN and call the dealer, a lot of those DPFEs were recalled under an M program, meaning you only do the repair if the vehicle comes in for it. You might be one of the vehicles, if not you still get the revised part so don't be shocked if the new part looks nothing like the old.
