I have a rrreeeaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy annoying problem with Explorer. When it opens a web page, it seems to mix the page up. e.g. if i load up AF and MSN, on the AF homepage, it will put the AF skyline logo where the MSN logo should be on the other page. it will put the "post reply" logo where my avatar should be. also sometimes when i click on a link to a site, it will magic up a link to an advert (spyware perhaps?) and will refuse to load up anything other than the advert. Anyway, you get the picture. I have no virus (none detectable by Norton anyway), but i suspect the fact im running Windows Me may have something to do with it. Anyone offer any help???

Your best bet would be to re-install IE 6. That is the strangest problem with IE I have ever heard about. I'll ask around about it.

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt that. A clean install of a different OS might be in order. That will, no question, fix your problem. Maybe someone else has envcountered this and has a less drastic solution.

i would have changed OS a long time ago cept for one problem: my dads flat out refusal to spend money on these "new" technologies like computers etc. The only way i can can get a new OS is to download it, and i dont fancy sitting behind a 56k connection for a few days waitin for XP pro or 98 to download

I had problems like that before on WinME. I encounter more problems so i used the Windows Update page. It came in handy and it fixed my problems. I got all the updates I thought would help. Check in out it's in the Tools menu on IE6. The thing is you need a good internet connection, 56K will take weeks to download all the patches and things but it's possible. I guess what Polygon said about a new install will be good for sure but you will need the downloads to get it to work really good. Wins XP works well but you need a machine that can run it. Getting XP from someone should be easy. I'm sure that XP pro is floating around somewhere in your area just ask around. Look into what XP doesn't support, hardware and software, and make the decision to change over from there. I lost my CD-R function but I got software for it that works now. The only thing is that it's not supported and it doesn't work as it did. So I took the plung into XP and I'm happy I did. XP made my home IT work almot nothing.

I had junk like that up in my computer! My server was really slow and some stuff would pop up before others causing things to be intertwined in one another! Then the computer froze and I restarted it and left it a lone for awhile...........still slow and messes up alot but I try to live with it. Might just be the server
