Let us see if anyone can help with this. The problem with with an 03 Taurus. Sometimes it gets all crazy and possessed. The anti-theft light will come on, the engine will make a funny noise, and the speedomoter will bounce a lot. It will continue to bounce up to 40MPH when in a complete stop. Also, even if in park, the odometer will continue to go as well. Sometimes all of the lights go on (Check engine, seat belt, oil, ECT.). Also, the car does not always have this problem. Just once everyone while. But when it starts, it will do it for a few hours. It has been to the dealership, and they say that there is no way that could be happening, yet it is. They have tried to check the computer, but each time the car is there, the problem is not happening.
Any clue?
Thanks! :)

How often is "every once in awhile?" If it only takes a couple of days for the problem to show up, you may want to leave the car with the tech and ask him/her to drive it to and from work.
My gut feel is you have a grounding issue somewhere in the instrument cluster. There have also been a few posts regarding faulty flex boards on Taurus instrument clusters. I don't recall what years seemed to be effected, but you may want to do a search on this forum for "flex", "dash", and "cluster."

This is a rare but know problem with Tauri on the Upper New England Coast and Southern Coastal States.
You are going to need the following:
Crucifix
Vial of holy water
Young Priest
Old Priest
If you are not a person of faith or religious satires than I suggest removing the instrument cluster and look for any burn spots, cracks, insulated glue across gaps, corrosion, unplugged connections or improperly connected connections.
Also check your relays when they start to fail they can cause unique problems.
And when it messes up (you said it lasts for hours) carry it the Ford house.

You put in an aftermarket radio or other accessories? Had the speed sensor checked?
