Passenger door and Sliding door problem??

I have a 1993 Plymouth Voyager 3.0L. And the Passenger and Sliding door colse but don't latch or something? So they are being held closed with bungy cords. Also the handles and Stuff all operate normal it just doesn't latch or something.

you have a strange issue.

I believe your slidding door is same as my 1994.. the latching (locking) mechanism is in the rear of the door.. There is a striker bolt on the rear part of the frame. the latch cathes it and locks when it closes.

If you close the latching mechanism manualy does it lock? basically you pull the latch back with a screw driver or something as if it were the striker. The latch should lock.. does it?
