Mysterious Leak

I went out to my car the other day to find a large puddle of unknown liquid under my car. I looked at the car and saw it dripping. It had just finished raining, so I thought it was just rain water dripping. I came out today and all the rain was dry, but the puddle was still there. And the car was still dripping. Smelled like gas. I looked at my fuel gauge and the last reading it had before i cut the car off was 3/4 full. I turned the car on and it was less than half! Well when i moved the car to another spot and turned it off, the leak stopped! WTH was up with that? (as some of you know, i have topull the fuse and unhook my battery to shut off my car.) could it have something to do with that?

Where is the puddle back of the car? If it's gas i would start looking for a gas leak somewhere, possibly a fuel line or the tank itself...

Can you take a picture of it? It's clearly a fuel leak then, I would try to fix it ASAP gas is too expesive to just let it run out onto the ground.

Fuel filter?

Fuel filter?
sounds likely.
It stopped leaking becasue the system pressurized, on ce the pressure bleeds off it will leak again. I would jump on taking a really good look at it and stop the leak, 40-50psi of fuel and hot exhaust = recipe for diasaster when it's no longer a small leak.

yes, that IS the fuel filter. Prabably the o-ring is bad, or for whatever freakish reason the line came loose. They're cheap so I 'd replace it anyway.
