Hey Guys...just traded my junk truck for the 89 SSE and me ses light comes on intermittent. Did a diagnostic and found the O2 sensor is acting up...I'm changing it out today but the problem that I'm having is on cold start ups it starts right up but then Stalls right after...I have to give it a few seconds before trying it again or it wont do anything but keep turning over...it does this twice and the third time it fires up with a rough idle and wants to stall when I put it in gear to take off...only on cold start ups first thing every morning. The O2 sensor shouldn't be this problem should it...apparently the O2 sensor doesn't actually work till operating temperature it reached I'm pretty sure...one other problem is with shifting...when going into full throttle from a stop it get's allmost to redline in a snap but if I dont let off on the throttle before it should shift to second it will go completely dead(Tranny) just like having it in neutral...I have to manually shift it down to at least 2nd gear before it grabbs...no SES light present either...a couple times I put it into neutral turned it off then started it up and it's no problem to go right back into overdrive and it goes right into gear while moving...I had to do this twice because it wouldn't come out of first on its own...will the VSS have anything to do with that? it seems sometimes that while driving at the speed limit...I'm going faster than everyone else and sometimes slower...sorry about writing a novel to you guys...figured I'd put it all in one thread in stead of a couple...thanx in advance for your replies:banghead:
