Every summer this happens!

I have an auto 98 eclipse spyder with the na 4g64 engine.
During the winter the car runs fine with no light.
I've had the car since 2004. The last two summers and now, the check engine light comes on. It throws a p1750 code which is transmission solenoid code. The light comes on and the tranny goes into safe mode (2nd gear). I can restart the car and it goes out of safe mode. Then after driving for a couple days the light goes off. Then it will come on again after a few more days.
I took it to the dealer last year and they said the tranny internals were fine and the wiring harness might be bad and that would have been $800 to change but the weren't sure if that would fix it. So I didn't have it changed.
I've done spark plugs and wires yearly and regular maintenance.
Does anyone have any ideas on fixing it?????
