i have a 97 ga se 2.4 . the heater crapped out on me. not loking forward to it so any shortcuts ot tips would be appreciated

If the heater core is what you're referring to, anyway you go about it it's a pain in the +*#$#% - But this will help make it easier- remove both front seats- You'll need a 13mm deep-well socket. It's four bolts for each seat, very quick and easy, and trust me it's worth the time in gold to save you from the frustration you'll save from not being able to manuever if you leave them in while you're removing/replacing the core- Other than that, just remove the the two cover's (one on each side) under the dash. They have turn-snaps to fasten them in place. Then once you have access to what they hide, begin taking out very small screws- There are a bunch and I'd need to draw a diagram to show where they all are, but use your head and a flashlight and you'll find them all eventually. The rule here is to remove any screw you find holding onto that plastic cover in the middle- This will get you far enough where you can figure out the rest. Good luck, it's not a pleasant experience, but you'll be happy after you see the $400 that's still in your wallet when you're done!
