I have a 99 Grand Caravan Sport with 80k...The dealer replaced the tranny just before my 70 k warranty was about to expire.Havent really had any problems since...Today I leave the house and my speedometer isnt working, the car doesnt want to go over 40 mph and when it did try to I realized it wasnt shifting. Then I noticed the service engine light was on....
Where do I start to figure this out?
Cant remember how long ago the tranny was put in...probably less then a year but bet they wont warranty it.....I Hate Chryslers......Any ideas???

Sorry but your transmission is in the safe mode. Which means it will stay in second gear and won't allow you to go over 40mph. You will need to have it scanned with a trans capable scanner to see what is actually is going on but I bet you will need a new transmission to solve the problem. If I were you I would contact the dealer that changed it to see if there is a warranty on this one. If the first one lasted 70K this one shouldn't have gone bad that quickly.

Found my bill...Work was done 9/27/2004 and it has 14,700 miles on the rebuilt. It says they performed rebuild, reconditioned valve body, replaced torque converter and front pump, did reverse fush of cooler....... Any chance it could be these speed sensors Ive been reading about? How could it be shot in only 14,700 miles? This is depressing....
