Need help!!! Gas peddle problems

Well i have a 1988 blazer k-5 Silverado. i was wondering if there is anything i can do to the gas peddle to make it go in and out easyer beacuse eather you accelerate or not. When you pres your foot down on the peddle, it takesa significant amount of pressure to make it go down to accelerate, but still then when you press down it gives way. This is causing some problems such as:

Poor gas mialge due to speeding up and slowing down
Not being able to keep a constant speed
not being able to go slower than 10-15mph

is there anythin i can oil up, fix, grease or anything like that to make this pedle go in and out more smooth liek a newer truck so i can ease on the gas instead of just holding it in till i wanna slow down. i have checked the peddle itself and there isnt any rust or ne thing like that to be found. I have one more conclusion. My TB (throttle body) under the hood seems to be loose. My father says that the shaft on the butterfly is loose. So if i fixed that would that help me? I appriciate it. Thanks for the reply. :)

Take the cable off the throttle body, flip the throttle body open, snap it open and let it go - it should snap close right away. If it doesn't your throttle body is dirty or worn out. If it does snap close, then its most likely the pedal cable that needs to be replaced.

I had the same problem. I just removed the injection unit intake hose, sprayed inside the throttle body with carb cleaner and it was fine after that.

Clean the throttle body butterfly.

Old toothbrush and throttle body cleaner.

Block it open and scrub and rinse the fron and back of the butterfly plus around the outer edge and the inside of the throttle body.

Truck will run rough for a second or so but will smooth out.

If this does help, you will need a new accelerator cable.
