i've always loved cars, just never known anything about them. aside from occasionally whoring up cot like a dick, i spend a lot of time in the Car Audio forum and really just cars in general. The guys that frequent the audio forum really know their stuff, n helped me get a nice system together for as cheap as possible. Now that i have my system, i still read whats going on there, see how i could improve n things. Also, aside from learning a lot about my engine around here, the OT forums like Music and Philosiphy are really kick ass.
also, AF's basically become my crack.

More like what has AF taken. In that case, many, many, many hours of my life, lol.
But seriously, I've learned alot from AF. Almost everything I know about 240sx's and Eclipse's have come off this forum. I've gotten some good step by step instructions for my car and so do and dont's concering cars in gneeral. Not too mention you can discuss just about anything because it seems like there's a forum for whatever you tihnk of on this site. All in all, AF has been a great place to learn, communicate, and just joke around.
AF = best thing since KY Jelly.

I find AF to be a really good genereal blend. I come on here looking on advice for my FC and the RX-7 forum is like a desserted wasteland, so I get frustrated that I can't find the damn wire that connects to my foglights and I kick my car. But then I come back on AF to read some of tonioseven's jokes and there's just a ton of comic relief and I forget why I was mad in the first place. Overall, I find this place as a good place to connect with people. Most of the time (for me), it's not even about cars. Cars brought us here first, but then identical interests (besides cars) take over. It's a relaxing place. Except when there aren't new posts for five hours straight.

well even tho AF is a massive car site..i still suck at cars but not as much as i used to! mainly for me AF has been a great way to talk about stuff and see other people's points of view on things. it's a good way to gain new perspective on all sorts of topics. also, i have met a lot of awesome people that i never would've gotten the chance to meet. i *heart* AF

While in college it gave me plenty to do. Smoke a jay and see what was going on. Then I'd move onto another forum and come back. HAHA. But plenty of laughs.

It's taken away alot of time from me, but i've learnt alot about cars, much more than i used to. it also got rid of the little ricer in me that i had when i first got into cars. it also got me interested in getting a career in cars and similar stuff. I'm going to university for mechanical engineering, would have gone into electrical engneering. in fact i just got an acceptance email yesterday, first one. too bad it's to a university i don't particularly want to go to, it's too close to home, it's got a pretty good engineering faculty but there are other places i'd much rather go to.

AF has given me the chance to find out solutions to any problem I may be experiencing with the 6 cars I presently own, and to share my wealth of knowledge and experience I've accrued over the last 25+ years of working on these beasts,( and owning over 20 cars in that period of time.) I've also participated in other forums on this site that are non-automotive related , that I normally wouldn't think about if this site didn't exist,(a.k.a. "expanding horizons")I've also conversed with other members around the world from this site, and learned a lot of new things from them. With the amount of time I spend on this site sometimes, my wife is beginning to think I'm having an "online affair":grinyes: .

Hmmmmmmmmm, knowledge about cars, spirited discussions, somewhere to goto, feeds my interest in vehicles, feeds my interest in the diversity of people, is a very diverse forum in total.

First, AF gave me a WEALTH of knowledge on my very first car... then AF gave me a place to ponder the repercussions when the US was attacked in 2001... After that, AF just became a regular part of my day, like checking e-mail. I've met some GREAT people from around the world, and learned TONS of things about just about everything.

I didn't want to say anything but AF has made my life a living hell....
When I first joined I was nothing more but an eager person ready to learn more. After a while though I started to post more and more. That's when I saw...the shadows. My bushes outside my window would rustle at night and I could see figures.
The more I post the more figures that show up in my bushes. If I don't post though for a couple of days I'll wake up in the night and I'll see figures in my room. I pretend they're not there....but they are. When I go back to posting though they just stay outside in the bushes...watching.

Its' the swedish women i sent you.. they're just shy. And very cold, laying there in just their panties. Thats explains the bushes moving (them shivering from cold).

you're emo, that means no physical contact what-so-ever. rubbing your "gear" on empty food containers won't give you the clap. take a shower, problem solved.

So AF has given me the witnessing of an inter-oceanic teenage cutesy love thing or whatever... meh.
Also, I've learned basic auto mechanics so I can drive my 15 year old car without it breaking down too often.
Furthermore, I've passed many hours at AF to alleviate boredom at work, which could have been spent writing a couple of novels or maybe just one good published one. Damn.
But most importantly, I've gotten to enjoy the jokes of Muscletang and Tonioseven.
Thanks AF!

It gave me a lot of info on cars when I was new here. For the first few months I was here I just looked up info on 240s, rx7s, camaros, 'stangs, etc. Now I look for different perspectives and to get different opinions I couldn't from my friends I have in RL(they're not the sharpest set of knives in the kitchen). Also met some chill people on here.
