2000 3.0 code 0402

this code popped up the other day. i was gonna clean the EGR but the code went away for a day but now it's back. anyone else had this prob and how did u fix it? just checking before i do unnecessary stuf like i always do

Ford has had a lot of problems with failures of the EGR flow sensor (DPEGR ?? sensor??). Make sure the sensor hoses are in good shape and not plugged or leaking.

well. replaced the DPFE sensor , no luck. replaced the EGR vacume soilniod, the check engine light was still on so i disconected the battery and the light didn't come back on!!!ya!!!. when i went to get emissons check, they said the obd wasn't rdy to be tested so they had to run it on the treadmill with the sniffer up the exhaust and it passed!!!. hope the light stays off. i guess you need to drive more than 10 miles to get the obd to gather info.

well check engine light came back on but it passed emissions just before it came on!!! anyone else had this code?
