fuel cap door '86 park ave

i just got a free 1986 buick park ave...
not the car of my dreams but it runs and beggars cant be choosers!
i can not get the door to the gas cap to open!
there is a button in the glove box but it isnt working
checked all fuses and they are intact...any ideas (besides prying it open with a screwdriver)?

can you get to the back of the door from under the car or inside the trunk. It should/may have a manual release.

Yes, there is a manual release in the trunk near where the fuel door is. Just press it and it should release. Your auto-release motor is probably dead.
