This isn't really about racing, but yeah...I want a kayak.
I tried to rent one at the springs up the road from my house and they said I have to be 18. That sucks. And I can't afford to buy a new one.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I want to start riding my bike to the springs and then kayaking. I haven't exactly worked out the logistics of getting the kayak to the springs on my bike, but yeah...I'll figure something out.

Look in your local classifieds and take someone with you who knows a bit about kayaks to have a look at it. Offer them slightly under their asking price for cash, citing any faults with the construction or equipment.
I think you could pick one up for a couple of hundred bucks. Also try local kayaking centres selling second hand boats.

Kayaking is fun. We do Blue River and Red-River Gorge fairly often, but I enjoy ocean kayaking the most.
