So I took my stereo out and put it into a differnt car and there is no power to the speakers. It previusly had an amp but now theres nothing, when I connect the speaker directly to the head unit and turn it up all the way it crackles but thats it. It turns on fine but no power is making it to the speakes themselves (6x9) pioneers.

check and recheck all of your connections. if all the connections are fine try powering the speakers with something else like a home stereo or a small battery just to make sure they are not blown.

depending on the car, there might be a stock amp that powers the speakers. I ran into this problem once. when you have everything hooked up the head unit works fine theres just no sound. on ur aftermarket wireing harness you will have the blue wire(forget what its called) and the blue/white stripe wire(remote or amp wire) if the blue/white stripe wire isnt hooked up then theres nothing tellin the amp to turn on. i learned that if you hook up ur blue/white stripe wire in with the blue wire where all the ends need put together this will turn on the amp. im not to good at explaining these things. but mainly where you hook up ur wires with connections just hook up the 2 wires to the the one blue wire to your head unit this will tell the amp to turn on when the head unit is on and power your speakers
