hey everyone, i'm just trying to get some quick info here so if you could send me some links that'd be awesome. Who has done engine swaps into 3000gt. I might be getting my hands on one (the lower end model) and was wondering if anyone has done a vr4 swap or anything? the vr4s are awd and stuff right? so how did they go about converting from fwd to awd? then has anyone swapped the 6speed in? are they're some kits or something to sitck in them? thanks for all the info, i would search around a lil more but i have no time at all i've been extremely busy if you have any info, either reply to this or email info or links to [email protected] thanks!

p.s. anything on underbody restoration would be great to thanks!

easiest thing to do is find a donor stealth TT or VR-4. After that, your basically just swapping everyhting out. I dont know what kind of deal your getting on the base, but it may be easier and in your best interest to just buy a TT or VR-4.

^agreed, don't hack up a VR4 just for the soul purpose of doing the AWD conversion, when in the end, it'll be easier and cheaper to just buy an rt/tt or a vr4

Agree with everything. To do a TT and AWD swap would be VERY espensive and time consuming. A VR4 or RT/TT would be a much better direction to take.

Engine swap...is like any other engine swap. PITA IMO. Now why are you talking about an engine swap. Are you talking about a Twin turbo swap into an NA 3000gt?

Also the AWD conversion is more of a PITA. Few have bothered doing it, and in the end its easier and cheaper to just buy the AWD TT from the beginning.

Read our FAQ. Plenty of good stuff and links in there.

all u need is a front clip. im saving up for one to do a TT an tranny swap. u can find one for around $3500. u can convert it to awd with the awd tranny. an u have to swap the back end. an the mountings points dont line up for the front bolts so u have to make up a custom bracket. the way its described on the site seems like its hard and real time consuming to do. the awd tranny can be used on the fwd by welding together the VCU an u need solid motor mounts an an LSD to help it off the line. a lot of this info can be found on 3si.org
