Help...Can't open rear liftwindow

The button makes noise but the window doesn't unlatch. My daughter said that it made a wierd noice and a crunch sound last time she opened it (she is 9 yrs old). I found the access hole in the panel and moved that little bar to the passenger side like the book said but it still did not unlatch. When you push the button that little thing moves but it doesn't unlatch. I don't have a man to take it to the repair shop and I don't have a lot of money. I am hoping someone can help me get it open. I figure I can replace the thingy once I get the window open. Someone please help me get the window open. :banghead: It is a 2001 blazer.
