2001-05 windshield weatherstrip issue

My 2001 Caravan SE had a rubber strip at the bottom of the windshield come loose (flapping over 35 mph at one end), and, not being able to reattach it successfully, I threw it out. Then discovered from dealer that it is ONLY available as part of the cowl vent below it at some ridiculaious price. It's hard to describe without looking at your vehicle, but it's a rubber strip that meets the cowl and functions as a debris weatherstrip to the cowl vent, but allows water to pass.
Anyone know of an alternative source for this kind of strip besides the junkyard? It functions as a barrier to leaves and other debris getting under the cowl strip and blocking up the 2 vent tubes behind the engine. Now I've discovered that it is a rather indispensible part. To complicate matters, Chrysler saw fit in about 2003 to extend the strip the full width, whereas before, there was about a 2' gap on each side.
Thanks!

same problem here.. I used some clear silicone II and fastened it back into place where it came loose at the ends. Came here looking for help with this issue.. It would be nice if some plymouth service guys frequented this forum. There has got to be a decent rubber alternative for this issue. JCWHITNEY?
I was thinking of something more permenant like a tube of window glazing, you know the kind that has the square dispenser end.. maybe they make it in black... how often would that cowl / valence have to come off?

I finally found a source. Go to any windshield repair shop and have them give you some unused winshield stripping (or buy it as a last resport). It will fit under the vent cowling with a bit of pushing and forms a better seal than Chrysler's junk. It alos won't blow off!
