Sometimes when I set my parking brake on my 97 towncar the light does not come on even tho the parking brake does engage. The bulb is working because I noticed it come on when I start the car. This seems to happen when it is raining or very damp out. Any ideas?

I don't see the switch in my manual, but I'm pretty sure I saw one on the Pedal Assembly last time I was down there. My guess would be 'a problem with the switch itself'.
As for the dampness relating to the problem, I can only say 'dampness and electrical connections don't mix well'.
Have a look down there (Pedal Assy) and see if there's something obvious.

i kno exactly what it is my town car did it too. theres a plug under the steering column behind the park brake (when its engaged). that plug usually falls out. just plug it back in. just lay on the floor, look towards the lower left hand corner towards the bottom. its usually mounted against the firewall. the wire should go from the park brake and connect into a prong type plug. if it wont stay it do what i did: put a piece of duct tape over it haha
