I remember posting a few months ago how some random American Government body was trying to shut down guitar tablatures all over the internet and put thousands and thousands of tabs sites out of business, well, they're at it again.
The website www.mysongbook.com (http://www.mysongbook.com/) has come to a hault, completely.
The website distrubutes home-made full-band midi files (compressed to a .gp4/.gp5 file) that opens a finale like program called Guitar Pro, (see my other GP thread.
They are forcing the shut-down of ear-made work that is allegedly copyrighted. This sucks.
Fuck the MPA I hate America.:uhoh:
To make shit more contraversial, the MSB.com website is hosted in France.
The notice on the MSB.com main website:
Providing some tabs - even made by ear - of copyrighted music is illegal. In order to respect the law, downloads have been limited to the [Composition] and [Competition] files. We are going to make our best to find a solution to offer music content without infringing copyrights.
This is just like shutting down AF because people post videos, and pictures of company made cars.

The thing is that this doesnt only affect America, or France, it affects people all around the world who use guitar pro. Next thing you know you cant even listen to the bands themselves.
Providing some tabs - even made by ear - of copyrighted music is illegal. That is bullshit. People who tab out music, and want to share them with other musicians should be able to do so. If its their will to let others use their tabs, so be it!
They are fucking TABS, they arent mp3s which "steak from the artists", tabs dont make the artists lose money, or the money grabbing record labels! Why dont they ban bands from performing covers, or maybe even playing them in privacy. Oh I know, they can put up signs in guitar shops that ban people from playing other people's riffs!
