Trap speed....no.
ET....yes.

I couldn't hook. Every run I spin through 1st gear.

I bet that downhill slope didnt hurt either

remember, he's high up on the elevation factor, if he ran it here in ohio he'd prolly be 10-11 seconds.

Track is completely flat.

NHRA track---Bandimere Speedway. 5800 feet up.

If you use NHRA correction factors it was a 11.7 at 124.

hes pushing 470hp....elevation or not he should be 11's easy. STICKY TIRES!!! Like my track times only to a much higher degree( since he is making a buttload more power and is more than likely a more experienced go fast driver). No traction means crappy 60' times and higher ET's. Beautifull sounding car though I love it. Is that through the maganflow or cutout?

Mr. Luos
05-12-2006, 12:34 AM
Duals.
Dumped after the axle. No cats, no mufflers.
The Magnaflows are getting hung up tomorrow.

I was probably making 400-410 RWHP for those runs. While they aren't the greatest ET wise...I am right on target for trap speed.
Dyno corrects...track doesn't.
You are right...if I wasn't on this mountain...I would be an 11 second car EASILY!

So are you gonna hit the bottle on that thing? I'd love to see about a 200 shot on it, but then again I didn't just drop a lot of hours and a small fortune on the motor either. You think the M6 could handle it?

lol... camera person needs to film the race and then switch to the boards AFTER the race... Made it look like that 'stang beat you.

Congrats... one mean bitch you've built there, makes me want to finish mine.

As quick as they cycle cars through....that was about the only way you could get the footage. They only flash the times up for a brief moment.
I did get the better of that 'Stang...but it took me almost the entire track to catch him.

Nice, that is one of the best sounding LS1s I've ever heard... Great job Luos!

And go to a lower elevation track!:banghead:

You need some slicks:wink:

Mr. Luos
05-14-2006, 04:58 PM
I will have slicks next season. Once I have a 12bolt under the back of the car.
If I get a raise here in 2 months...I might just get it early.
Then slicks and skinnies.
11's here. :grinyes:

Well then... I guess you REALLY got something to tout then, huh? "I gave that guy a HEALTHY lead and still whipped him & his car's ass..."

Also... There was some discussion as to what was better a 12 Bolt or 9" rear... and consensus was that a a 9" was stronger... from what I've seen they run about the same price depending on where you go... why'd you decide to go with a 12 bolt?

You'd need one helluva combo to break a 10 bolt... like 900RWHP through a M6 with a stage III clutch dropping at the torque peak on slicks. Haha :)

10 bolt what?. You mean a 7.5 10 bolt? cause if so. I have heard of stock LT1 & LS1 guys breaking 10 bolts with sticky tires.

Mr. Luos

I have a friend pricing out a 12 bolt for me this week.
Byunspeed again.

I am getting VERY near the end of my probation period at work, and will be getting a raise in July.
Thinking if I can keep this 10 bolt in one piece until then...it will help pay for the 12 bolt.
11's MIGHT be the end of this race season. :grinyes:

FormulaLT1

12 bolt would be the way I would go over the ford 9. I have read articles of when they compared the two on a dyno. The ford rear ate up 3% more power. When you start to get up into big power numbers that figure ends up to be alot. I went with a 8.5 though, cause of cost, near 12 bolt strength and efficiency.

Mr. Luos
05-16-2006, 09:27 PM
The REALLY nice thing about the 9" is the gear selection. Anything you want.
Most of the 12 bolts are 3.42, 3.73, or 4.10.
Downfalls of the 9"....weight. It is heavier than the 12 bolt. Not sure by how much. Also...it does eat up a little more power than the 12 bolts.

Even though my cam would LOVE the 4.10's, this car is a street car more often than anything. Thinking 3.73.

Considering I won't have to worry about a 12 bolt....that seems like the better option for me.

FormulaLT1
05-16-2006, 09:36 PM
With a 6speed I would think you could still get decent mileage with 4.10's but I love my 3.73's and highway wasn't too bad before I took her down. The gas mileage was pretty close to what I get with the achieva on the highway.

Mr. Luos
05-16-2006, 09:40 PM
If I was still running the stock LS1.

Mileage isn't a concern. Driving around without shifting all the time is.

FormulaLT1
05-16-2006, 10:33 PM
Thats true. Your cam is probably a little too wild to worry about gas mileage. lol. Still shouldn't be all that bad though considering your probably pretty efficient power wise. Usually the tunes that yield more power also increase fuel economy slightly as well.

Mr. Luos
05-16-2006, 10:41 PM
16 MPG around town right now.
Not too bad really.
Of course....12 passes at the track sucked down 4 gallons.

FormulaLT1
05-16-2006, 10:50 PM
Thats not that bad at all. 16 around town usually equals low 20's highway which is pretty amazing for a 520 + horse at the wheels car.

Weight.

Is that the real major difference???

BTW M21/22 almost completed... Rebuild kit is missing a spacer, getting it tomorrow, should be sewn up by the weekend.

I know how that goes... 16-17mpg highway w/ ~150hp at the crank....

Very nice run, that car is a Monster...

i wish i got 16mpg in town... i only get 12 and i don't have anywhere near as much power as you... but i have 4.11's, so that makes a big difference, and i don't consider the shifting all the time to be that bad man, w/ the t56 4.11's are perfectly managable

Mr. Luos
05-21-2006, 08:19 PM
After talking to a friend with 4.56's on his M6....I think 4.10's will be my gears.
He said he cruises at 75 at 2400 RPM's in 6th gear. Not bad at all.

Hopefully soon!!!
