High Beams Problem

I am having problems turning my high beams off. I can turn them on easily and turn them off once easily, but after that, I can still turn them on, but I can't turn them off. I pull the lever back towards me to turn them off and nothing. No click or resistence. Sometimes I have to put my left turn signal on then pull the lever to get them to turn off. But that doesn't always work. Any suggestions, and I hope it doesn't have anything to do with pulling apart the steering column (obviously it does). Thanks, its on a 94 Z.

the rod in the column is bent, it's a common problem. I'll see what I can find for you on how to fix it.

Will that pretty much work for a 4th gen also? Because I have a 94. But it does sound similar.
