Ford Ranger V8 Swap Help

I've got a 1986 ford ranger with a 2.3L steight four ( overhead cam,). It only cranks out around 115 horse power :banghead: . I want to give my poor truck a engine transplant. I want this truck to be able to move, and be able to be controled. I have used the rangersport or what ever it is called website v8 swap help and would like a little more info. I also would like some help deciding what engine to use 289, 302, or somthing along those lines. I also need some help with how to keep the rear end down and actully be able to get sometraction. Any help would be greatly apperciated.
