ticking noise???motor shifting????? need help

Whenever im drivin i hear a tickin noise in the left side of the motor near the pulleys. It ticks the whole time the car is on.:banghead: ALso while driving the motor moves foward and back when i accel. and decel...not sure if im missin motor mount or if somethin else is wrong. I have 3 mounts..(sides and back) not sure if supposed to have front?? :confused:

your probably hearing valve tick which is easily repaired by removing the valve cover and tightening down the rockers, with some simple hand tools and a feeler guage to determine how tight to make them.

the stock motor on the car would have 4 mounts, if the motor was swapped most swaps come with only 3 mounts, but should keep the motor from moving that much when driving around.

Sometimes small exhaust leak sounds like a ticking noise. As for the engine shifting, check you mounts like crxlvr said. If could be that all of your bolts are tight but the bushings are worn out.

i thought d/b series engines had five mounts..... one between the engine and fire wall, two on the tranny side and two on the engine side. unless a crx is magically different than every other civic and integra......
