fuel guage

i have a 1997 geo metro lsi ans the gas guage doesnt work.any suggestions?

probably a bad sending unit in the gas tank. It could also be a bad gauge cluster. Under the rear carpet, there should be a couple wires coming through the floor next to the passenger side strut. The pink one is fuel pump power, the black one is the ground, and the 3rd one is for the sending unit. Take a voltmeter and see if there's any power coming from it.
