I am having the same problem I have seen posted here where my tailgate glass won't open but the actuator makes a noise. I am trying to figure out how to open it, but from past threads I cannot figure out how to pop the latch. Can anyone tell me where the latch I need to push down with an L shaped allen key is in relation to the brake light in the middle of the rear panel.
Thanks,
Alan

Try getting someone to push the button while you gentely try pushing on the glass, and pulling on it. That sometimes releases it.
Once you get it open oil all the mechanism. It's often overlooked and usually the cause of the trouble. I use a spray grease that's a penetrating oil that hardens into grease.
I only have an older Blazer, so I don't know abiout the allen key trick

The area that you are looking for is the "hump" in the middle of the panel. Looking at the hump from the inside, slightly left of center is the latch opening mechanism. It took me several tries to finally find the right spot. Try using something a little more flexible than an allen wrench but heavy enough to push down on the metal arm. I used a metal tent stake that I bent in an "L" shape.

Thanks, I'll try something more flexible.
