Well guys i'll stil stick around even though i dont contribute much. sold the gsx and deliver it on sunday. the Talon just met the reserve so hopefully that transaction goes smoothly. The guys feedback is 7 @100% and member since aug 04 so he seems legit. He's bought a lot of dsm stuff. just emailed him to see if he was serious and everything. So now that leaves me DSMless... looking for a non turbo spyder. just put some rims, exhaust, and intake on for now, and clean clean clean paint and engine bay thats all i want. I'll deff still be here tho lol :grinyes:

You know, honestly, the NT Spyder will give you hours of pleasure and will turn heads without the turbo drama. My car is back in the shop yet again, with only 3000 miles on the SBR motor. After breaking the motor in like I was supposed to, and checking the fluids every day, it's doing what it does best....being a DSM. Go NT with the spyder if youre looking for a daily driver. I miss my 2.4 spyder; owned it for 2 years, never a problem, ever.

A loud, clacking noise started coming from the head. Took the timing belt cover off to discover that there was play in one of the cam gears (stockers, non-adjustable). I tightened the gear and the noise went away. Drove it straight to my mechanic's...by then, the gear had come lose again. Opened up the head, and he's still figuring out what all the fuss was about. New sprockets? Considering the shit Kevin has gone through with all his stuff, I guess I shouldnt be complaining, but this constant drama is becoming...irritating. Lol. The car spends more time in the shop than on the street. (We'd be concerned if it was the other way round, fcking DSMs, lol). Thank god this thing isnt my daily driver any more. I've been looking into big block old school muscle lately. Pre-1974 (no smog :) ), mainly 69 Olds Tornados, 69 Pontiac GTOs. Lets see where fate takes me.

you will love the spyder gs. I miss mine. I hate to say it but while the turbo spyder is faster it doesn't feel like as smooth of a ride. I don't feel completely in control yet but that could because I hit the pole I'm still scared a bit.
SO yeah you will love the GS and with the top down it's amazing.
1) Don't get leather seats. I hate them in my gst i want my cloth back.
2) Black interior is nice. Grey gets too dirty.
3) If the top doesn't retract all the way they sell a kit on ebay to fix the bent retraction devices (that connect to the second top bow). It works better then stock and doesn't break and its' 100 bucks.
4) You just missed prime season for spyder's. Everyone ditches them right after winter and they are cheap. Till about now when everyone wants one again.

I think you'll be happy with a n/a spyder. I'm happy with mine. I've owned it for almost a year now next month. Never gave me any problems until just recently, but nothing serious though, just stupid stuff. I've definatly had fun with it. It's not the fastest thing in the world, but I've still out ran alot of my friends, lol. Just to give you a reference of how much you can expect to pay for one. I bought mine from a Benz/BMW/Cadillac dealership a year ago w/ 52,xxx miles on it, 1999 5-speed w/ custom leather interior 1 owner, fully loaded and in mint condition. I paid $11,000 for it which probably seems like alot but I'm completely happy with it. Good luck with your search!

I bought my 99 GS with 134k on it for 5500 a year ago.
Interior was in mint condition as it was used to commute from jersey to philly. Engine ran great no leaks. Small dent on front fender and paint had some chips on the hood. That was via Ebay.
So somewhere between 4-8k I'd say you will probably be looking at.
I bought my 97 GST Spyder for 6900 from a dealer. But it's in really shitty shape body wise. Low milage good engine though.
GS's are really easy to find but finding a manual is tricky.

I don't know if i can agree with you all on how happy he will be with a gs spyder. I have never had a gs spyder but i have to say that i love my gst spyder. I have had no problems as of yet(knock on wood) but since i got my spyder i have only driven my wide body gs about 3 times. I guess you could say that i am in love with my turbo!!! I beat my friend tonight in his stock mustang gt convertible!!! After that he said sorry for not giving my car the respect that it deserves. And to think that this is only the beginning of my mods that i want to do.
