I have recently purchased a 2001 Yamaha R6. I have ridden it for about a month and the decal at the very bottom of the bike fairing, the one that says YAMAHA is burning/melting off of the plastic fairing right around the kickstand area where the exhaust passes. I am planning on just replacing the decal but am wanting to prevent it from happening again. Any suggestions?

i though the decals were under the clear coat?
when i've had insurance repairs, they have needed the graphics at the spray painters to clear coat them in.
other than that try getting some exhaust heat sheild tape. its an aluminium tape with a cotton like backing to keep heat away and make exhausts cooler to touch.
it shouldn't be melting in the first place though.

yea i thought the same thing, i am assuming they are replacement stickers now that are coming off and somone did a half-a$$ed job when putting them on...sould I just clear coat over them when I replace them then? and should the clear-coating be professionally done or would clear coat out of a can be sufficient? i dont do too much body work so i dont know what will look horrible and what wont. thanks again

its easy to stuff it up. either remove them completely and leave them off or try the exhaust wrap. somethings not right if they are melting and its stock
