Hi i have a 95 eclipse GST and im having clutch/ transmission problems.. my clutch use to have a low point and now it got softer than before and the point is higher.. i grind going into 1st gear or reverse like almost 3 times a week but today i grinded atleast 7 times.. other times when i try to shift to first it feels like i hit a wall or something and it wont go in even though i have the clutch down all the way .. i could easily pop 4th gear into nuetral.. why is that?? do i just need a new clutch? or do i need transmission repaired as well??

Sounds like a clutch problem, do you plan on modding your car? Put your car and whatever mods you have in your signature so for future reference it's easier to determine. The clutches on DSM's are somewhat of a p.i.t.a, i believe chilton time pays 9 hours to do the job, definately two days and a couple cases of beer worth so be ready to get some work in. If you plan on modding your car further i would get a ACT or whatever your brand preference may be, something that's gonna catch well.

Also while you have the transmission out i would go ahead and change the fluid in it. I always used GM Synchromesh fluid, definately a noticeable difference with shifts.

DUUUDDDEE I had that same Fu***** problem with my 95 GSX. It would be like a wall trying to put it into a gear...I'de have to jam it with all my might. The problem was the clutch fork...it got messed up so when you try to change gears...not everything was in alignment..which is why it was grinding. The problem lasted for so long since I had no money that it wore out parts of my ACT 2600 sideways pretty badly, so I just got an Exedy organic stage 2 and got a new clutch fork put on, and now it shifts like damn heaven.
