front brake spring hardware

Okay, I'm posting this for my father who telephoned me long distance today asking about his front brake pad spring hardware on his 93 Bonneville 3.8 no ABS no supercharger.

I've done plenty of brakejobs but not on his car and so I couldn't quite help him.

He said he couldn't figure out how to attach the spring that goes from the inner pad into the piston. I said, are you sure it is supposed to go INTO the piston and he said yes.

Anyhow, anybody here got any pics or detailed descriptions of how the spring and anti-squeal hardware should be?

THere are two spring steel tangs on the back pad that just snap into the caliper piston to hold the inboard pad in. The outboard pad has a butterfly clip that goes over the outside of the caliper to retain it. There is no other anti-rattle hardware.
