You cant notice it much there but on the right the light shows red coming through the tail light(car is OFF) but on the light its almost completely black? Im gonna get new bulbs but i dont think that will solve it because the car is not on..can someone explain to me how to fix this?

Here is what I would check....
1. Make sure the bulb is good.....put in a new bulb per owners manual or swap bulb from pass to driver...
2. Inspect the bulb housing for corrosion on the contacts..I had to replace one on my 99 Z28.....Check the voltage.... >12.0VDC
3. Look the housing reflector...is it clean, bright and polished...compare sides, Do they look the same ?
4. Is the lens itself...tarnished !!! UV from the Sun can break down plastic.

What does it look like when hit the brake lights ????

my mom took it to the dealership today and the guy said its tarnished or something..suprisingly the dealership ordered me a brand new one and install it free of charge :)
