hello, i havent been here for quite some time but now that my malibu has collected literally 97 problems i think i have no where to turn but here for your guidance.

its 97' malibu 120,000 miles v6 3.2 automatic trans

#1. as everyone knows the first problem you find out is wrong with malibu is the lower intake manifold gasket, because these idiots bulted it too weak it leaks and leaks and then breaks. been there fixed that.

#2 right after you fix that you now have to fix the o'rings on the fuel injectors since you taken them out once to fix the gasket you cant put them back in as i have and found out the hard way with a gallon of fuel spraying out every 30 seconds. took me couple tries with retarded Kragen o'rings being too friken big until i went to get the o'rings from dealer and fixed the problem which i should of done in begining.

#3 iv probebly replaced my powersteering pump about 3 times and have to replace it again. thats probebly the least of this vehicles problem.

#4 i havent figured out why the car shakes so much when going 65-75 miles an hour but because of that i had to fix the engine mounts once and replace my tires just yesterday since its practically ate the corner of my front tires like ice cream. i dont know if this is shock problem or what but with new tires the car doesnt shake any longer but now makes this weird wistling soud and driving the car only for two days on new tires i see the corner is getting more stress then any other part of the tire.

#5 as most of you have probebly done i had to take my car in for the recall on the pinion barring separation on the steering system, a buncha bull thats it was free i had to pay 150$ for a bs part that made no sense to change but i had no choice else they wouldnt fix it......im wandering if they did illigal thing? who knows...

#6 after i drive the car in morning to work then go to lunch the engine rpms go crazy, no clue what da heck the issue is but its getting worse. after about 10 mines of driving the problem goes away. that seems to me a problem that will create more problems down the road and i need to fix that.

#7 water pump leaking like there is no tommorow, i figured how to reuse the old one and screwed in the two wholes from which the fluid was leaking, now i dont have any heating issues. but i feel sooner or later i will need to put in a new one.

which all these problems occuring, i will probebly never buy another chevy again, i hate its guts. but for now i have to live with what i have and need to find some solutions to existing problems. i dont want to be ripped off by greedy mechanics so i want to know what you good people know about the following issues.

malibu tires get there corners eaten, and shakes more and more as the corner disapears. could this be the shocks? or is this something else? allignment could be it but this wasnt the problem when i got the car. when i run over bumps i hear something loose it makes this cluk clunk sound but i cant put my finger on it iv probebly layed under this car longer then in my bed looking for this issue.

next is the rpm going crazy after engine has had its run in morning. i dont know what this could be, but i have to hold my break cause it feels like im flooring the gas when im not.

anything i need to know about transmission issues that could be related to this? in few days im going to change my transmission gasket and the filter. i fear what i might find in the fluid when i get to it.

power steering issues? anyone have issues with plugged up powersteering or any strang issues with the pump system.

this is all i have for now, i have probebly writtern a whole book in here sorry for so many words. ill be awaiting your responses see what you guys have.

Thanks

Power Steering Pinion Bearing recall? Never heard of such. I feel your compassion. I really like the style of my Malibu, but there are just way too many problems with this car. I have a long history with Chevy (1972 Nova, 1965 Impala among others), but I think my long history with Chevy is coming to a close because GM does not give a damn about its customers on these year Malibus. Well, they can kiss my butt as well.

I replaced my intake manifold gaskets and apparently something went wrong with my vavles because all I hear is a ticking. Now, just yesterday, I had an erratic idle and the car would feel like it wanted to die at idle in gear. It now feels like the exhaust from the tailpipe and the clicking are in time. My son said it seems like the head gaskets are going out. Any ideas?

well im glad i caught the lower intake manifold gasket problem before it got to the head gasket. i was lucky that not too much ani-freeze got into the engine, or it could of created many more problems. i used some special cleaning oil to cleans my engine after i did that.

my main problem right now is the issue with hearing a clunk noise when running of bumps like something is loose, and between 65-75 i feel vibration. there is now just faint vibration after i got new tires, but as i said before the edges are already being eaten so i have to do something asap to fix this problem. i have already went down the line trying to see what will fix the problem. i replaced my engine mounts and checked for loose bolts everywhere under my engine. i now feel the suspecion that its either my stearing maybe one marble fell out or its my shocks. both are expensive to check and replace, i dont want to do it just to find out that its not the problem. my allignment is a bit off but its not something that should be causing an issue like this.
