LOW TIRE light after Hub/Strut replacement

98 Regal GS
I had a mechanic replace both front hub assemblies and all four struts and strut mounts. I drove the car approximately 50 miles before getting an alignment. After the alignment, I drove approx. 250 miles after that. Then I decided (for whatever reason?) to reach down and turn on the Perf Shift and turn off the Trac control. When I did that the LOW TIRE light came on. I have tried resetting it through the fuse panel but it wont go off.

I bought the hub assemblies from NAPA (I did get the economy ones). I haven't tried checking the resistance with an ohm meter yet but did read about it here at AF.

Any ideas?

You may need to put it on scanner like a GM Tech II capable of checking the ABS and traction control system. If there is no ABS light or trac light then the wheel sensors on the hubs may be OK since all use the same wheel sensor. However, it doesn't hurt to check the wheel sensor resistance (about 1K ohms) and all wiring especially the electrical connector at the hub.

Since the low tire light is not resetting it sounds more like a control circuit problem associated with possibly the EBCM/EBTCM module. The module handles low tire reset/calibration and generates the low tire fault light.

I also posted this on RegalGS.org and it was suggested that I disconnect the battery for a while to see if that would reset it. So I had it disconnected for about 3 hours tonight and when I reconnected the battery and reset it thru the fuse panel, the light went out. I'll see if it holds tomorrow when I drive it.

Well that seems to have fixed the problem.
I'm theorizing that the short distance between the mechanic and the alignment shop may have not been enough miles to fully re-calibrate the system. Then when the alignment shop pulled the wheels off again it through a glitch into the computer causing it to lock up.

What do you think bnaylor, am I full of it?

Its possible. Something hung up in the EBCM module. Although it happens it is uncommon not to be able to reset the light. I get the light whenever I forget to re-calibrate the system like after putting on new tires but it has always reset. But it would make sense to do it when new hubs are put on too. From what I understand it takes up to approximately 45 - 90 minutes driving time for the system to learn or fully calibrate. Also, without having to disconnect the battery and wait a few hours you can try clearing the EBCM lockup by pulling the ABS maxifuse located in the engine compartment fuse box.
