I was wondering what the typical cost of installing new struts/shocks and springs are. What do shops usually charge for that? I plan on having H&R sport springs and KYB AGX struts.

Shouldn't be any more than $80. Anything more and you're just getting ripped off.

It all depends how the shop charges labor. We charge by the book. For instance 1.5hrs for the fornt & 1.5hrs for the rear. There is a hack shop in my area that charges $100 flat for lowering spring installation. We do things right not just to make quick buck from the customer. True coilovers will be cheaper than lowering springs & struts since the coilovers are a simple bolt in while the struts / springs need to be disassemble and assembled. Also you should figure in an alignment.

they charge alot here, cheapest place wanted 120 dollars, another wanted 180..

i heard it was cuz they don't want to be liable for the damage it could cause to your suspension

dont worry i got the same suspension setup on mine. Cost me $150 the first time, which they did wrong, and another $150 the second time to fix it. SO anything from $150 to $400.
