I was traveling down 224 this afternoon and the automagic rx8 pulls up next me (debadged focus) and revs.

This Rx8 had an exhaust and possilby an intake
My focus has an intake and exhuast (128 whp)

So I shifted into third and gave it full throttle and she took off, I hit 75 in 3rd, 100 in 4th and then I slowed back down to 70, and the look on this little pricks face was priceless. I could see him swearing up a storm becuase his hot little girlfriend was laughing at him...

(maybe she was laughing at me :screwy:)

oh just you wait til i get my turbo. :grinyes:

Good kill. But don't those RX8s have like 60 more HP than you?

Nice kill. And are you serious that your focus does 0-60 in 6 seconds flat? Man, im gonna have to watch out for those new ones:uhoh:

Yeah there is no way it does 0-60 in 6 seconds... The 170HP SVT Focus has a 0-60 in the 7 second range.

if he has a duratec its got alot more torque then an svt does. maybe more like 6.5 not 6 flat... but i heard with basic mods on a duratec they can be pretty quick.

Yeah, but the fuel economy version was built as a straight-line monster:rolleyes:

not having the queer dual gear range getreg helps, all foci were made for the twisties not straight lines, but i had to get a vf engineering motor mount for my rear motor mount becuase i kept breaking my flex pipe. lol

i don't know my torque but in a focussport 2.0 duratec (before they turbohed it) they made about 135 ft/lbs , way more than an svt focus.

That's odd, according to cars.com the SVT Focus has 145 LB/Ft....

im gonna call bs after looking at this more, i noticed you edited your sig to what i said.. hmm.

Nope, a stealth wouldnt cut it. However, the 3000gt would....with ease. :iceslolan

So far this does seem a little fishy from what I've read but I'll keep watching and whoring before I decide to make a decision.

. However, the 3000gt .thats very arguable. the fsvt was made for the twisties/autox.. they're VERY agile.

Not 'all' focuses were made for twisties, the SVT one the most, just like the SVT Contour was..

^^ So you saying it only looses 7% of its powers from the crank to the wheels? I wouldn't think so.

I was just bull s*#@ting with Torched Stealth. But I suppose how twisty it was. I've never driven a focus so I cant say how well it handles. Probably pretty well with some suspension upgrades.

Of course you were. After all, we all know that stealths are WAY faster than 3k's  . OK im done hijacking, ive had my fun, go on.

Wait wait wait... In your first post here you said...

Only way to know your wheel horsepower is to put it on a dyno, which would tell you your wheel torque output as well.

Care to explain this interesting lack-O-knowledge? Or was the dyno half broken?

Okay, regardless, I don't see how your car could go from 0-60 in 6 seconds. The SVT Focus is rated at 40 more HP than your car and has a 0-60 in the mid 7 second range. Hell, I think 99-04 Mustang GTs have a 0-60 of about 6 seconds...

And I also couldn't see you beating even an automatic RX8, but I guess anything is possible....

I don't care how low ur gearing is. My gearing is gonna be better than yours for low down acceleration. And mine is AWD. And my car barely cuts 6.0 with a damn good driver (not pro driver obviously). An avg driver in a WRX can get about 6.5, 0-60. There is no way your car is that fast 0-60.

And IF your geraring is better low down, how did you beat an RX-8 going up to 100mph? With less WHP?

You're FULL of shit and your gtech is broken.

....oops....i forgot something...

I'm gonna have to call bs on this being an rx-8 fan, the only way I see this happening even slightly is if the rx-8 was automatic cause from a dead stop, a roll, hell even with one wheel off, a manual rx-8 wouldve raped the crap out of your car. The manual has 100 more horses at the crank than the focus, and they weigh just about the same so the power to weight ratio goes like this RX-8 > Focus, RX-8 > You.

Just playing on the 2nd one....

no not really....

even so the automatics still do better times than his car, and it's much harder for it to mess up. And yes it does have like 60 more horses

Alright, so let's look at the facts here. The RX-8 has at least 60 more horsepower than you do and still weighs about the same. Commercial websites like Cars.com do NOT post WHP ratings. They post manufacture ratings which are all at the crank. Even if you had some strange gearing you would not be doing 0-60 in six seconds and if you had gearing that allowed your car to do so your top end would suck so bad you would have lost that race very badly. With all that and you lack of knowledge about your cars torque, yet you seem to know the WHP so you should know the torque as well, I think this whole thing wreaks of bullshit.

This is not a good way to start out here. We aren't stupid, and we know bullshit when we see it. I suggest you start posting some proof or come clean.
