That should help out with number one and two. 8 C 3 is equivalent to (n over k)
I hope this makes sense and was what you were looking for.
I'll have to get back with you on the others...I'm watching Colbert Report

Shouldn't you have some kind of book that tells you how to do these exact kinds of problems that you've been assigned?

I had an algebra class last semester....you SHOULD have a book that explains this shit, or your dead in the water before you even start.

yes, i do mean i can't do it, it's algebra and i just don't give a fuck about that class. yes i did have a book, until i sold it back...i had already passed the class and that was stuff i did back at the first of the year that i've forgot already and this was stuff that was assigned as bonus so i could get the grade higher so the class would transfer, i had already passed the class....it's cool now though jet, i didn't ask for your help and i got the grade high enough to transfer.

that's not necessarily true. the textbook for math i had didn't explain anything. all it was was problems with no explanation on how to do any of it. the textbook maker assumed ur teacher would tell you, and if you had trouble with your hw i guess ur just SOL. so no, not everyone has a textbook to use.
my solution was find a hottie who was in calculus 3 to help me..but i don't think that's the right thing for you to do lol

Wow, I actually remembered how to do these. Just didn't see it until too late.
And who buys books in college nowadays anyway, they have libraries for that sort of thing. No need to waste decent beer money.

Get a different book then. What a concept! Your a college student...use the resources available to you, the library was a great example.

actually i was a junior in high school then. now i'm a senior. so getting a different book wouldn't have worked. and i did use resources.
