help!!!
my problem is this:
i'm driving on the highway at a constant speed, and keeping my RPM at 3,000. however, from time to time the tachdometer will jump to 4,000 - 5,000 rpm for a few seconds, by itself, and come back down to 3,000 rpm. (btw, it does this when the car is at idle as well)
another problem that i'm experiance is this (really hard to describe):
let say i shift gear from 2nd to 3rd the tachdometer is at 3,000 rpm, but the engine is not. i actually have to press harder on the gas pedal to make the engine catch up. this doesn't happen all the time, but it occurs often enough, especially when i'm trying to have a fast acceration.
i believe the two problems r related. can someone help me?

What year is you G, have the Comp & the tach checked, I am pretty sure it isn't your engine.
? does any of your other electrical system's get affected like radio etc. when this happens.
Well I am no expert. But this is were I would start.:bloated:

it's 1992. no, nothing was effected by that. does it have something to do w/ the ignition timing?

could it be your clutch going out. my friends car did the same
thing i think. seemed like you had to give it a lot of gas to get
it moving.:smoker2:

I suspect clutch slippage too.
