hatch speed vibrations?

at what speed do you guys get speed vibrations the worst at? also what is the fastest you guys have been in your hatch?

no speed vibrations in my car...:bloated:

I used to get them at 150+ km/h in the twin-carb GL. Not at all to 185 km/h in the SiR but the suspension and geometry etc is different.

Why only to 185 people ask? Damn speed limiter :(

I don't, it's called Alignment, get one.

It "could" be tire imbalance or a bent wheel, but thats usually like a low speed vibration. Or you can try an alignment too....

185 km/h is approx. 115mph

When I first got my hatch I would get a strange vibration right at 80mph. It wasn't bad, just enough to be felt. What was weird was that the car would vibrate for a few seconds, then it would go away for a few seconds, then come back. It continued off & on like that, but only when I was going 80.

Turns out my passenger side rear wheel bearing was dying. Replaced that & haven't had any vibrations since.

I get a bad vibration at about the same speed. Just bought the car a week ago and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. Tire pressure was WAY off when we bought it but bringing them to the right pressure didn't help.
Seems the tires were improperly worn because of improper pressure. They have many miles on them so we're going to wear them down to the bare minimum and get more. I'll put up with the vibrations.
And, I've had it to 100mph so far, and funny enough, it cruises smoother at 100 than at 80 :)

Wheel balance, bent wheel, tire out of round (like the carcass has broken), tire flat spotted, warped brake rotor, bent drive shaft, the list goes on.

Top speed = Pegged the needle... Many many times :)

On a good day (i.e. no traffic), I've been known to do 115-120 mph on the way to work.

125 mph easy...no vibrations...except steering wheel is dangerously light and I'm afraid my wipers might come off.
