Is $417 a good price to have my lower ball joints replaced by a GM dealer?

Nope, NEVER get anything done at a dealer.

Get a local shop to do it for a much better price.

Only use Moog parts. The off shore ones just don't last.

lower ball joints can deffinately be a headache. the part itself is cheap enough (around $40 I paid) . Your paying 80 bucks an hour for labor... with a good set up 2 hours tops labor. If you have a grinder, drill and hole punch I'de recommend doing it yourself. But at least shop for a better price, dealers really suck your pockets dry
