94 Taurus wont start

my friend has a 94 taurus and last friday we were driving and he was behind me and all of the sudden i see his hazzard lights on and i turn around and go bakck he said his car overheated. the temp was up high. car would crank but not start. then staring at temp guage it went down fast then went back up to high. he said if cant be fuel pump.what else couuld casue this? (no spark) it is a V6. he wants to go out and buy a new computer but im trying to tell him not too

basicaly his car overheated and now it wont start. his dad had bought new computers for the car thinking its the problem. the car will crank but not start. wut could be wrong?

Without knowing the specific engine or being there to give a first hand inspection I would go on first assumptions.
Scorched cylinder wall/pistons
Thermostat has closed shut
Fan is not coming on
Water pump not functioning
Oil pump is not functioning

:evillol: well his dad got his car working, he had to replace radiator fan relay, computers(from junk yard) i tell his dad to check the coil to see if it is getting spark and he just laughs:evillol: :rofl:

its most likely the head gaskets, it happened to me in mine, and i replaced the cracked head gasket and it worked fine.
