I have seen some diecast models of GTR prototypes of the 95 and 96 GTRs (Minichamps and IXO). But I'm not able to find the chassis # of those prototypes, nor do I have any information of those cars. Did those prototypes really exists? Or were they later converted to "production" GTRs? I'm sure you guys can help me with this:)

The Minichamps and IXO orange "GTR Prototype" are simply not accurate. Chassis #01R would have been the '95 prototype, and as I am sure you know it was painted orange/silver and had the "GTR" script logo down each side. Minichamps/IXO should have called what they built an F1 LM, since neither one is an accurate representation of how #01R looked in it's early stages of life. The red one Minichamps released is representative of #10R which would have been the '96 prototype, though only Autobarn got it right with the yellow "GTR" script graphic stretched across the car as #10R started its life with.
McLaren didn't refer to either car as a prototype using their typical XP designation, but for all intents and purposes the first of each of the GTRs (#01R, #10R & #19R) should be considered the prototypes of each model year. In the case of the first two cars, I'd be willing to bet that both saw far more miles under development and testing then they ever did during an actual race. Chassis #19R had a much more active racing life, especially in it's later years when it was competing in the Japan GT Series so that assumption may not hold true on that car.

I have some early articles from Autosport mag, on 01R at launch party and Silverstone shake down runs. Also some early pics of 10R and 19R will post them soon, if thats the sort of info you require.
