Heater Hoses & Neutral Safety Switch

I'm replacing the engine & trans in my 92 Transport & almost have the job done. Has anyone replaced their heater hoses with cut bulk hose ? I tried it today & it seemed just about impossible. The engine came out of a Bonnieville & the hose ends are not in the same place as the Transport engine. I was trying to find a work around without replacing the waterpump. I also found that the neutral safety switch on the Bonnieville trans has 12 volts going to it from a wire attached to the starter soleinoid. My Transport one doesn't have this wire. I'm going to disconnect the wire & try to use the Bonnieville switch without this wire. Anyone know what this wire does ? Switch has the same connectors & looks identical.
