tranny issue

OK. I wanna get this outta the freakin way! I have a TH350 that sometimes, at Stoplights, will not shift from a complete stop/idle. If it gets past 1st gear, its good to go through the rest. Thats a strong IF. So here's what I've done to try and rid the problem.

- Checked the fluid. Its all good (eventhough i mixed a pint of reg ATF with synthetic...not a HUGE deal.)

- Disconnected the KickDOWN (sinceI believe it wasn't working properly)

- Checked the vaccum lines. Its all good.

I know the last resort is a new tranny, but of course, like anybody with a small pocket, I'm trying to avoid that. anyhow, a little advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

flush it, if not maybe time for a rebuild

Most transmission shops will diagnose your problem for free. Then you can decide what you want to do. Since the car is still running, you can go to more than one shop.
