Spark Plug Wire Recommendations

I just metered my spark plug wires...my chilton manual says to replace them if the resistance is over 25Kohms, well all of mine are 800-1000 ohms except for #3 which is 9000 ohms (that plug was also way more carboned up when I replaced them) so I think I'll swap them out next time I get some cash flow. Wondering what people recommend for replacement wires. I know you're going to say Delco, but they're real pricey. Anyone had experience with Bosch, Champion, NGK, etc.? What are the best wires out there?
Thanks!

If you plan on keeping your Blazer for several years you'll probably want to keep the origional equiptment wires. They'll last longer than the rest put together
Otherwise Bosch would be my second choice.
{edit} if you live by a race track you might be able to buy a used set from some racer. They often replace things like very good quality plug wires yearly just to ensure that they won't have any problems.

great advice from a great person... however... stu is old school, our wires won't be commen off a race car because of the re-designed cap... don't tell any one, but for my personal vehicals i use napa wires, good quality, lifetime warrenty, and cheeper, my cost almost 40 bucks cheeper then the delcos (can't give you an otc price, i get discounts through my shop, but my shop cost on delcos were 95 bucks, and the napas were 60ish... thats a v8 s 10, but im sure the 4.3's are close in price)

I would go with taylor wires. I use them in my camaro, both my trucks, great wires and an upgrade from the stock delcos as they have less resistance per foot.

I belive Summit sells the Accel kit (Cap, rotor, plug wires, and (crap) plugs) for about $150 of you are going to do one you might as well do it all if you got the cash and all that jazz.

i did buy that kit when i did my tune up/cpi replacement (used ac delco plugs though), but the original question was directed specifically toward plug wires.

Forget the ohm out process. It only tells you if they are real bad.
Not a real good test on wires. It takes a engine scope to tell good from bad.
With the 75 to 125K plug replacements it is a good time to replace wires.
Normally you can tell by the price how good they are.
Good one are going to cost you but they only hurt one time.
Them cheapo ones will bit you in the rear many times.

I ran across this awesome deal a while back. The plugs are (were) platinum and the price cannot be beat. If you feel safe usin eBay theres no better way to go plus the sellers feedback is great.

Not sure if the years this setup covers applies to the original posters blazer but it certainly covers mine and many others. :naughty:

OEM wires are all an engine needs.
I used to run taylors and had them for over 10 years but they were no better then stock wires.

Bosch high-temp silicones are in my rig. When I tune up every 32K miles/2 years - the lifetime warranty on them is great. I shove the wires and my last reciept over the desk at the parts monkey and they get me a fresh set. And to think I only paid for the first set.... :D

I worked at a chevy dealer a few years ago in the parts dept.you used to have to buy each plug wire- not as a set. if it's still the same way, & if cash is a problem, just buy the #3 for now & get the rest later

How about MSD wires...only 40 ohms resistance per foot? thats crazy low...
