Sanding, GRRR!

Why is sanding so hard! I puttied up my car, i have my 1200, 1500, 600, and 400 grit sand paper, im doing wet sanding, and the stuff aint coming off!........whats the trick?..........how do you get putty sanded off easily?..........thx for any tips in advance

what kind of putty are you using? did you let it dry completely before sanding? just the rough sand paper and work your way up to the 1000 and higher grid. I don't see there being any trick, just keep sanding.

i dont know what kind of putty, but i let it harden outside since last night and attempted to sand it now!......there is little grooves where the putty was placed and i cant sand off the putty from there, another thing i just found out, the farkin putty melted itself to the plastic!

Uhm...that sounds like regular ol' toulene hobby putty to me, it's supposed to do that, to make it stronger. Touelene is the same stuff they put in plastic glue. Did you try folding your sand paper in half and using the edge to get into the grooves?
