so i need you guys' help. my friend drives an 05 chevy cavalier and thinks it's just the best thing ever. i can't even fathom that...anyways, i'm trying to convince him that dsm is the way to go, are there any other things you can think of on how a 3000GT>cavaliers? so far i told him it's just plain sexier, better engine, depreciates less and retains more value overall. it will also make a better pair with his kawasaki ninja. what other reasons could i give him to persuade him? money really isn't an issue for him. thanks for your help!

A) 3000gt isn't a dsm
B) I can't think 1 thing the cavalier has over the 3000gt, except that if you crash it, you can find a new one in 20 mins.
Seriously, this isn't even a fair comparison. They are two TOTALLY different cars, in two totally different classes. Yes the cavalier is new, but its a 4cylinder economy car. The 3000gt (especially the vr4) is an affordable exotic.
It's like comparing a 250cc Ninja, to a 1 Liter Busa

honestly if your friend "can't make up his mind" on what car is better, just let him get the shitty cavalier. he doesn't deserve a 3000gt.

 True.
And I don't know what your comparing here....seriously. A DSM vs a Cavalier or a 3000gt vs a cavalier. And like Igovert said, these are totally different cars. The DSM would actually be a little closer to the Cavy.

Where i live i see about 50-100 caviqueers *cough, cough* caviliers a day. I usually see 2 or 3 3/S's (mine and the one that lives by me, and one works by me). And most people dont know what my car is when they see it. Isnt that reason enough?

Your friend seems like a tool...let him keep the cavi.
but seriously...if he's such a fan of his cavalier, tell him to go test drive a Cobalt SS Supercharged. Same basic car, way better performance.

Hey Sweet-Cheeks! what are you doing in ma house? :grinno:
Well yeah the Cavi is a me-too. The 3000GT is a true sport GT car.
like Igovert said its an entry class exotic.
I thing Gateway was the one that told us the VR-4 is under "urban exotic" in the insurance companies database.
the 3000GT is sexier, better built, faster, better handling, will get him laid (maybe, he sounds really stupid) its a true car that was designed by some of the best engineers in the east and earned its rep as one of the best and rarest imports of the 90s. and thats just the base models! I think it was car and driver that called the VR-4 and the RT/TT an "affordable Ferrari".
It really is a entry class super car.
But seriously let him get the Cavi. We dont want people like him driving our cars. Hes just not worthy.

Motor Trend on the Dodge Stealth R/T "Think of it as an affordable Ferrari 348" ;)
I have that issue sitting right in front of me. Found it in the garage when I was getting rid of some junk.

:D
I found the motherlode. Did you know Hot Rod magazine gave away a VR4 back in 91?? Neither did I.... till I found all the mags. My dad used to subscribe and kept about all the issues. I found a few articles that I have never seen posted before. As soon as I get the chance I am going to scan them all in.
Also found some Car and Driver mags from 1966. Considering my dad was 4 going on 5 then I have no clue where they came from. Its amazing the things you find when you clean.
