How old was the current waterpump and t-belt? Did your waterpump seize?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the timing belt is off just one tooth wont it run like crap? However, $1500 doesnt sound that bad as Ralliart said.

well it seems that if there is white smoke coming out that there are some bad valve seals. You won't need new heads, but you will need the seals to be replaced.

nah, i fucked it up...i put coolant in and it sucked it up and rode it home at 30 mph with my hazards on...then the shit went ballistic 20 mins later.....yea..i kno, stupid of me, but i was really far from home..but w/e..it should be done in a week..

So it was leaking/burning coolant, and you kept driving it dry and overheated it. Yeah, that is where you added the costs of damaged heads

I spoke to Stealthee about this before and he said that it's not great, but there have been people on 3si who were off by a tooth or two. So no, I don't think it'll run like crap....although I'd be super paranoid if it was.

^^thanks but the heads are already being worked on at the shop..as for the timing belt and water pump, im getting it for pretty cheap brand new from a 3000GT engine that was taken out couple weeks ago, tomorow actually they're picking it up from my house to work on it, it should take from 3 to 4 days...i think it should be running to its full potential since im getting alot of shit new. i'll keep you guys posted once i get the car back and how it runs.

If the Timing belt goes, say goodbye to your engine.

If the timing is only off by a few teeth then you can get away with no damage. Others may bend the hell out of valves and others yet may take out vavles and damage pistons.

I know this. I was just discussing the timing belt being one or two teeth off of it's designated mark.
