Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else here has encountered a slight miss problem with their silvy. I have noticed it for awhile. There dosen't seem to be any interference with the way it drives thought. I just get irritated at sitting at a red light or if I am parked with the engine on ideling and feeling that slight miss in the engine. If anyone else knows what causes this and if their is any way to fix it please let me know. I would be much appreciative. Thanks

Which engine are we talkin here. Wouldn't be a 4.3 would it? I ask because I occasionally get that same impression from mine with a 4.3. Stopped at a light, it occasionally feels like it is missing. Not bad and no codes, but something. Mine has done it since I got it and it had 100 miles on it. Didn't really notice it until later because it was such an upgrade in terms of engine smothness from what I traded it in for (99 blazer w/ 245,000mi on a worn out 4.3). Mostly noticable in a slight rumble through the steering wheel and maybe occasionally through the seat if I'm really still. But he**, if it lasts as good as that 4.3 in the blazer did I'll be happy.

I have been inquiring about a miss on a 5.3 lately too. I hear a spark noise (spark tick) from under hood. Look under hood at night, look for blue arcing. If you get a bottle of water and mist the spark plug wires and it starts missing worse or more noticeable, it is your wires. DO NOT get autozone wires, get some good ones.

My Diagnosis: Spark plug wires.

My engine is the 4.8. I was the same way. I didnt notice it at first because of the smoothness but when I finally got used to it thats whe I felt it. And I can also feel it in the seat and in the steering wheel. Its drives fine though so I guess Ill drive her until somehting breaks. Hopefully nothing will break in a long while. Oh and I will try that spray bottle trick too and see if anything happens. But I just got a full tune up and I got new wires and plugs, the whole thing. The mechanic got the wires through NAPA so they are definitly not autozone shi*. Thanks for the advice.

Start with a good tune up.
What year and engine and mileage?
Has it ever been tuned up? Have a look at the plugs and wires /or coil on plugs
Which do you have?
Any check engine lights?
