Heres the rig:

94 Full-Size Blazer 4x4
5.7L TBI 350 (New-rebuilt in December05)
Auto Trans
This truck has been a $$ ride to maintain and there are several things that i need to fix but this is likely the most important.

Upon immediate starting of the engine, unless I let it warm up (pressurize?), when I put it in gear, I have no power for the first 30 seconds or so (engine only revs up). I have had the tranny flushed last year and when i checked it yesterday, the fluid was red as normal without any burnt smell and full if not 'overfull'.

I am really hoping that I dont need to replace the trans as i expect another $2000 bill on top of the $3300 for the new engine and install:banghead: .

If theres anything that you all could think of having me check before i take it to the tranny guys, please let me know.

PS...I question the competence of the mechanics that installed the engine. There was a washer laying on my skid plate and the starter was installed without a shim even though they test drove/started it before handing it over to me!:disappoin

Have you had the chance to hook up a code reader? Or do you have any service lights on at all? Could just be a seal issue since you said something about it pressurizing.

no service lights coming on so no, I havent hooked up a code reader. I'm only assuming its pressurizing because if I let it run a few minutes (30-40 seconds), it engages fine.

however, there has been this strange 'wwrrrring' sound from under my dash which speeds up as the revs do. it has been like that for a year now without any noticable effects until now. I cant place it but it may be coming from floor right where the front of my tranny is. Sounded like a diesel sort of at first but now it cuts in and out while driving.
