What all does this switch control. I have a Mitchell manual but it isn't very good for showing that. Wiring diagrams are poor at best. I know it does the wiper, washer, blinkers, dimmer switch and cruise control. Anything else??

You forgot the hazards, and I believe the horn is routed through it some how as well.

the hazards and horn share the same wiring harness but are not controlled by the multi-function switch. the have their own switchs to control them.

The hazards are built into the switch. They are contained in the same housing. The term "multi function switch" applies to the switch assembly, not just the lever that sticks out the side. True the horn has it's own method of engagement, but it is tied through the switch for some reason. While working on one I accidently touched two of the contacts inside the switch, and it caused the horn to blow.

Here's a picture of one, you can see the hazard button on top:

i guess we are both right, depending on the year. check out the exploded diagrams on this link.

the multi function lever, that is easily confused for the newer multi function switch, wasn't as pretty as the assembly in your pic. click on the pics for a better view.

I cheated, I looked at his old posts and saw that he has a 2000. :)
You're right the old ones used to be seperate. They were a lot cheaper, too. The new assemblies are $150.

Had a problem with the flasher clicking. Took apart the old switch cleaned it and put it back in the car. Problem solved but then the horn quit working. Took it back out and notice the horn button and spring was gone. Probably lost it when I was cleaning out the terminals. I made one out of a gun cleaning jag and it's been good since.
